It's Christmas time and that means treats!!
I know that cookies are not healthy and a lot of what I share is about being a Healthier Busy Mom, but instead of just looking at these as being unhealthy, let switch it to this...
Instead of getting yourself down (especially if you're new to eating healthy) about missing all the treats, here are a few tricks to make it through without going overboard on the treats.
Make a small batch that can easily be enjoyed by your kids and without overeating.
Or make enough to share these treats with your family and friends.
The biggest thing is to make sure that they aren't sitting in your kitchen day after day begging you to eat them.
Let's get to how to make these Delicious cookies!
Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter (skippy is our favorite)
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup Reese's Pieces candy
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350ºF
Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, peanut butter, egg and vanilla in a large bowl until fluffy.
Stir together flour, baking soda, and salt
Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, beating until well blended.
Stir in candies.
Drop about 1-2 tablespoons of cookie dough for onto an un-greased cookie sheet.
Bake 10-12 minutes or until edges are lightly browned
Cool slightly, remove from cookie sheet to wire rack to cool completely.
